NQT Induction & Registration

The National Forest Teaching School has been accredited as an Appropriate Body for the registration of NQTs and so we can continue to support staff during the early part of their teaching careers and beyond. We offer a tiered range of support to meet the needs of individual schools.

Our programmes of support are led by 2 induction coordinators, both of whom are outstanding teachers with a proven track record of supporting NQTs to become highly successful and effective teachers. They will monitor the progress of trainees throughout the year, maintaining appropriate contact with mentors, offering support and guidance and leading on twilight training sessions to ensure NQTs have the necessary tools to support them in their journey to outstanding.

When registering NQTs with the National Forest Teaching School you will have access to:

  • A mentor training session
  • Support with documentation
  • Ongoing telephone support
  • A quality assurance visit
  • An intervention programme as required
  • Twilight training sessions
  • An NQT conference
