The PTP 1: Techniques That Work

This four week ‘Professional Teacher Programme’ is for teachers at any stage in their career, who want to consolidate and invigorate their classroom practice. Sessions focus on practical techniques that can easily be transferred to different classroom contexts and which encourage all students to make progress. During the programme you will have the opportunity to observe lessons in two different schools (specific to your phase) as well as work in a triad with other delegates to collaborate and embed teaching and learning strategies covered in the programme.

 

CHALLENGE & ENGAGEMENT
A session focused on activities that successfully engage and challenge learners of different abilities.
 
CREATVITY IN THE CLASSROOM
Demonstrating how using creative approaches to learning promotes progress.
 
ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNING
A focus on evidence based approaches to raising achievement.
 
LOW ACCESS, HIGH CHALLENGE / PLENARY
A practical approach to differentiation and applying skills in the classroom.

 

MEET YOUR FACILITATORS
 
GILL MARTIN is currently the Director of the National Forest Teaching School and as such is very much involved in staff training, Initial Teacher Training and School support work. She  is also a member of the SLT at John Taylor High School and prior to this worked as pastoral leader and CAL for MFL. Gill is a trained Ofsted Inspector with a passion for Teaching and Learning 
 
ALISON CLEMENTS currently holds the position of CAL for English at John Taylor High School and is an experienced leader, outstanding Teacher and coach. As well as her senior role within the English department, Alison has experience of supporting other schools, observing lessons, coaching colleagues and supporting with recruitment.
